English 30-2 - Queen Elizabeth - Online Virtual Class

Students in English 30-2 will develop a variety of reading, comprehension and writing strategies and will respond to texts at a variety of different levels of sophistication. This course sequence, 10-2, 20-2, 30-2, satisfies the English Language Arts requirements for a high school diploma, and it will prepare students for some post-secondary programs.

Prerequisites: English 20-2: 50% OR English 20-1: 40%. Students without the prerequisite must withdraw from class with no refund if they are under 20 years of age as of September 1 of the current school year.

Students must write a diploma exam in November, January, April, June or August. If a student has written a diploma exam for this subject within the last 3 school years, Alberta Education requires the student to pay $26.25 to rewrite the exam. The fee is payable directly to Alberta Education and can only be done through the student’s myPass account. The fee is to be paid before rewriting the exam.

This class is delivered all ONLINE in a virtual classroom. Classes meet on all days and times indicated on the schedule as shown on the Class Details page in our system.

Students are expected to be engaged in learning activities for the duration of class time and to be present on all days.

For this course – students MUST have a Chromebook, laptop, or desktop computer available for their use (not a cell phone or tablet). The device used must have a webcam, a microphone, and access to the Internet.

TOTAL COST - Students under 20 years on Sep 1 of the current school year: A $60 non-refundable program fee.
