Science 30 - J. Percy Page - Online Virtual Class

This academic program is designed for the student who is interested in science but does not require specific courses in biology, chemistry or physics for post-secondary education. This program integrates concepts related to physical, biological and Earth sciences. The topics covered are: Living Systems Respond to their Environment, Chemistry and the Environment and Electromagnetic Energy.

Prerequisite: Science 20, Biology 20, Chemistry 20, or Physics 20: 50%. Students without the prerequisite must withdraw from class with no refund if they are under 20 years of age as of September 1 of the current school year.
 
Students must write a diploma exam in November, January, April, June or August. If a student has written a diploma exam for this subject within the last 3 school years, Alberta Education requires the student pay $26.25 to rewrite the exam. The fee is payable directly to Alberta Education and can only be done through the student’s myPass account. The fee is to be paid before rewriting the exam

This class is delivered all ONLINE in a virtual classroom. Classes meet on all days and times indicated on the schedule as shown on the Class Details page in our system.

Students are expected to be present on all days and participate and to be engaged in learning activities for the duration of class time,

For this course – students MUST have a Chromebook, laptop, or desktop computer available for their use (not a cell phone or tablet). The device used must have a webcam, a microphone, and access to the Internet.

To complete this course and receive an official transcript grade from Alberta Education, students must write a diploma exam.

TOTAL COST - Students under 20 years on Sep 1 of the current school year: A $60 non-refundable program fee.
