The world of Audio Engineering is becoming more and more accessible every day.  In this course, students will learn from recording professionals while using industry-leading studio equipment and techniques.  
Areas of study include common studio equipment and studio etiquette, microphones with a focus on signal path and professional workflow.  
Students will develop their creative vision while exploring the key stages of audio engineering - Recording, Editing, Mixing and Mastering while working primarily within the industry standard software, ProTools.  
Special detail is spent learning techniques for applying EQ, Reverb, Delays, Compression and other signal processing. 
The business of the music industry will be examined during this course.
Students can earn 3 credits in this course. An additional 2 credits are available depending on skill attained and willingness/ability to be involved in additional time and enrichment activities. 
Please note: initially, all students will be registered in Audio 15 regardless of prerequisite. The instructor will meet with and assess students early in the course to confirm the actual level of enrollment (ie, Audio 15, 25, 35)

Please read: 

This course is offered in an 8 week, quarterly format. This class is delivered IN PERSON at Centre High Campus. Classes are held 3 days per week: Mondays,Tuesdays, Thursdays – 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Students must be present for all learning activities in order to be successful in the course.

Students are expected to be engaged in learning activities for the duration of class time (until 9:00 pm).

There are NO CLASSES on Monday May 22 or Tuesday, May 23.

For this course – students MUST have their own pair of over-the-ear professional style headphones, a USB hard-drive (at least 128 GB) and a handheld vocal mic (Shure SM-58 or similar) for use throughout the course.

TOTAL COST - Students under 20 years on Sep 1 of the current school year: $60 non-refundable program fee. Students 20 years and over on Sep 1 of current school year: $60 non-refundable program fee and $589 tuition.
