Explore the craft and industry of writing kids’ literature in this introductory course. Through discussion, examples and exercises, learn how to create interesting characters, build fictional worlds and develop plots that will captivate young readers. Recognize some common writing pitfalls and develop a stronger editorial eye. Benefit from the insights of the two experienced children’s authors who will lead the course. Please bring a favourite children’s book to the first class. Read course outline
