In the English 30-2 program, students will develop a variety of reading, comprehension and writing strategies and well they will respond to texts at a variety of different levels of sophistication. This course sequence satisfies the English Language Arts requirements for a high school diploma, and it will prepare students for some post-secondary programs. Prerequisites: English 20-2: 50% and English 20-1: 40%. Students without the prerequisite must withdraw from class with no refund if they are under 20 years of age as of September 1 of the current school year. Students must write a diploma exam in January, June or August. Alberta Education charges $26.25 to rewrite a diploma exam. Textbooks and/or supplies will be distributed during the first class. Room assignments will be posted on your first day of Summer School. Please check them for your room number. If you cannot find your name and/or room number, speak with an Administrator, teacher, or office staff member for assistance. Students are expected to supply their own dictionary and thesaurus.
