Students will explore multiple perspectives on the origins of globalization and the local, national and international impacts of globalization on lands, cultures, economies, human rights and quality of life. Students will examine the relationships among globalization, citizenship and identity to enhance skills for citizenship in a globalizing world. The infusion of multiple perspectives will allow students to examine the effects of globalization on peoples in Canada and throughout the world, including the impact on Aboriginal and Francophone communities.

Prerequisite: Social Studies 9: 50%. Students without the prerequisite must withdraw from class with no refund if they are under 20 years of age as of September 1 of the current school year.

This class is delivered all ONLINE in a virtual classroom. Classes meet on all days and times indicated on the schedule as shown on the Class Details page in our system.

Students are expected to be engaged in learning activities for the duration of class time and to be present on all days.

For this course – students MUST have a Chromebook, laptop, or desktop computer available for their use (not a cell phone or tablet). The device used must have a webcam, a microphone, and access to the Internet.

TOTAL COST - Students under 20 years on Sep 1 of the current school year: A $60 non-refundable program fee.
