Physics 30 - McNally - In-Person Class

This academic program is designed to study matter and energy and their interactions. The program emphasizes the context of science by considering the interrelationship among science, technology and society. Physics 20-30 helps students understand the physics principles behind the natural events they experience and the technology they use in their daily lives. The four topics covered are: Momentum and Impulse, Forces and Fields, Electromagnetic Radiation and Atomic Physics.
 
Prerequisite: Physics 20 (50%). (It is recommended that students taking Physics 30 also have Math 20-1.) Students without the prerequisite must withdraw from class with no refund if they are under 20 years of age as of September 1 of the current school year.

Students must write a diploma exam in November, January, April, June or August. If a student has written a diploma exam for this subject within the last 3 school years, Alberta Education requires the student pay $26.25 to rewrite the exam. The fee is payable directly to Alberta Education and can only be done through the student’s myPass account. The fee is to be paid before rewriting the exam.
