Quarterly fast track courses move TWICE AS FAST as semestered courses. Students should consider the time and space they have to dedicate to their studies in choosing the timing of course-delivery.

In Physics 20 students investigate the motion of objects. They apply Newton’s law of universal gravitation to astronomical observations. They also describe how energy is transmitted by mechanical waves and how waves relate to medical technologies, industry, and musical instruments.

Prerequisite: Science 10: 50%. (It is recommended that students taking Physics 20 have completed Math 10 Combined.) Students without the prerequisite must withdraw from class with no refund if they are under 20 years of age as of September 1 of the current school year.

REGISTRATION for this class begins Wednesday July 16, 2025 and will close Monday September 1, 2025. From Tuesday September 2, 2025 to Thursday September 11, 2025 at 4:00 PM - ONLY students who are CURRENTLY ATTENDING an EDMONTON PUBLIC SCHOOL may register if there are seats available in the class by calling Metro at 780-428-1111

NOTE: Quarterly fast track courses move twice as fast as semestered courses. Students should consider the time and space they have to dedicate to their studies before choosing to enroll in a Fast Track course.

This 8 week class is delivered all ONLINE. Classes are Tuesdays & Thursdays from 6:00 pm to 9:30 pm and Saturdays from 8:30 am to 1:50 pm. Students are expected to be present on all days and to participate and be engaged in learning activities for the duration of class time.

For this course – students MUST have a Chromebook, laptop, or desktop computer available for their use (not a cell phone or tablet). The device used must have a webcam, a microphone, and access to the Internet.

TOTAL COST - Students under 20 years on Sep 1 of the current school year: A $75 non-refundable program fee. Students 20 years and over on Sep 1 of current school year: $75 non-refundable program fee and $600 tuition.

All study/reading resources required for this course are in an ONLINE FORMAT and access will be supplied by your teacher. A scientific calculator may be required for this course. If so, students are expected to provide their own.

NOTE: There will be NO CLASSES September 30 and October 11.
