Quarterly fast track courses are TWICE AS FAST as semestered courses. Students should consider the time and space they have to dedicate to their studies before choosing to enroll in a Fast Track course.

This academic program explores the interactions of living systems with one another and with their environment. In Biology 30, the emphasis is on adaptation and change. The four topics covered are: Systems Regulating Change in Human Organisms, Reproduction and Development, Cells, Chromosomes and DNA and Change in Populations and Communities.

Prerequisite: Science 10: 50%. Students without the prerequisite must withdraw from class with no refund if they are under 20 years of age as of September 1 of the current school year.

REGISTRATION for this class begins Wednesday, July 17 and will close Tuesday, September 3 at 4:00 pm. From Wednesday, September 4 to Monday, September 9 at 4:00 pm - ONLY students who are CURRENTLY ATTENDING an EDMONTON PUBLIC SCHOOL may register if there are seats available in the class. This 8 week class is delivered all ONLINE. Classes are held 3 days per week: Tuesdays & Thursdays – 6:00 pm to 9:30 pm AND Saturdays 8:30 am to 1:50 pm. Students are expected to be present on all days and to participate and be engaged in learning activities for the duration of class time.

For this course – students MUST have a Chromebook, laptop, or desktop computer available for their use (not a cell phone or tablet). The device used must have a webcam, a microphone, and access to the Internet.

TOTAL COST - Students under 20 years on Sep 1 of the current school year: A $60 non-refundable program fee. Students 20 years and over on Sep 1 of current school year: $60 non-refundable program fee and $589 tuition.

All study/reading resources required for this course are in an ONLINE FORMAT and access will be supplied by your teacher. A scientific calculator may be required for this course and, if so, students are expected to provide their own.

NOTE: There will be no classes Saturday, October 12.
