This academic program is designed to study matter and its changes. The program emphasizes the context of science by considering the interrelationships among science, technology and society. Students, through the study of Chemistry 20-30, are given an opportunity to explore and understand the natural world and to become aware of the profound influence of chemistry on their lives. The four topics covered are: The Diversity of Matter and Chemical Bonding, Forms of Matter: Gases, Matter as Solutions, Acids and Bases and Quantitative Relationships in Chemical Changes.

Prerequisite: Science 10: 50%. Students without the prerequisite must withdraw from class with no refund if they are under 20 years of age as of September 1 of the current school year.

This class is delivered all ONLINE in a virtual classroom. Classes meet on all days and times indicated on the schedule as shown on the Class Details page in our system.

Students are expected to be engaged in learning activities for the duration of class time and to be present on all days.

For this course – students MUST have a Chromebook, laptop, or desktop computer available for their use (not a cell phone or tablet). The device used must have a webcam, a microphone, and access to the Internet.

TOTAL COST - Students under 20 years on Sep 1 of the current school year: A $60 non-refundable program fee.
