This academic program is designed to study matter and energy and their interactions. The program emphasizes the context of science by considering the interrelationship among science, technology and society. Physics 20-30 helps students understand the physics principles behind the natural events they experience and the technology they use in their daily lives. The four topics covered are: Momentum and Impulse, Forces and Fields, Electromagnetic Radiation and Atomic Physics. Students must write a diploma exam in January, June or August. Alberta Education charges $26.25 to rewrite a diploma exam, and the fee is payable directly to Alberta Ed.
Prerequisite: Physics 20 (50%). (It is recommended that students taking Physics 30 also have Math 20-1.)
