In the Math 30-1 program, students will prepare for entry into post-secondary programs such as engineering, mathematics, sciences or other programs that require advanced math skills. Topics include: Trigonometry, Relations and Functions, Permutations and Combinations and Binomial Theorem. This course is a co-requisite for Math 31. Students without the prerequisite must withdraw from class with no refund if they are under 20 years of age as of September 1 of the current school year. Students must write a diploma exam in January, June or August. Alberta Education charges $26.25 to rewrite a diploma exam and the fee is payable directly to Alberta Ed. A graphing calculator is required for this course (preferably TI-83 Plus).
Prerequisite: Math 20-1 (50%+, but a mark of 60%+ is strongly recommended).
