Emphasis is placed on the development of observational drawing skills, which are used to prepare for and explore the diverse ways of creating art. Art history and required gallery visits are components of this course. The focus of the course is the preparation of a portfolio for Art 30. Pre-requisite: Art 10

Please read:  This general art program for Grades 10-12 is a unified, sequential course that focuses on three major components of visual learning: Drawings or delineations – all the ways we record visual information and discoveries; Compositions or structures – all the ways images are put together to create meaning; Encounters with art – where we meet and how we respond to visual imagery. In this combined class, students will create artworks in 2D and 3D using a variety of materials and surfaces. In Art 20 students will work with non-traditional approaches and uses of technology to create artworks. Students under 20 on Sep 1 - $90 class price that includes a $40 non-refundable program fee and $50 for required class materials. Students over 20 years on Sep 1 - $579 class price which includes $489 for tuition, a $40 non-refundable program fee, and $50 for required class materials.
